The city of Bellevue has announced a significant funding initiative aimed at increasing affordable housing. Nearly $25 million will be allocated to support affordable housing projects, with project proposals due by September 11. The funding includes up to $13.95
million from Bellevue’s Housing Stability Program (HSP) and up to $11 million from city housing reserves. The HSP funds are intended for capital expenses such as site acquisition and new construction, as well as operations and maintenance for households earning less than 60% of the area median income. Projects that cater to households earning below 30% of the area median income are given preference. Additionally, $7.2 million is available from the ARCH Housing Trust Fund to support low-income housing projects in East King County, including Bellevue.
