What's Happening?
The Des Moines Kennel Club recently held a dog show in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 7, 2025. The event featured a total entry of 750 dogs, with various breeds competing for top honors. The Best in Show was awarded to GCHP Next Generation’s Accelerate, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever handled by Devon Kipp-Levy. The dog is owned by M. Schumann, A. Levy, D. Bleifer DVM, K. Scribner, and T. Gerardi-Miller, and was bred by A. Levy. The Reserve Best in Show went to GCHG Spotlite’s Dappled Shining Light, a Dalmatian handled by Darcie Cantor. The event showcased a wide range of breeds, with judges evaluating dogs in categories such as Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding.
