Secondary school students from Jersey participated in a debate focused on the Nobel Peace Prize, held in the States' chamber. The event, known as the Colin Powell Rotary Student Peace Debate, involved
37 students from seven different schools. The debate centered on the relevance and importance of the Nobel Peace Prize in promoting global peace. Teams from each school presented on various themes related to the prize, emphasizing its symbolic significance and role in fostering peace. Hautlieu School was awarded the Colin Powell trophy for the best presentation. The event was described as thought-provoking, with students demonstrating passion and commitment, inspiring optimism about future leaders and peacemakers.
