CenterPoint Energy has mobilized its 3,300-person electric workforce in preparation for a major winter weather system expected to impact Southeast Texas. The company has strategically positioned its personnel, equipment, and resources at staging sites
in the northeastern Greater Houston area, where the highest probability of ice impacts is forecasted. The Emergency Operations Center has been fully activated and staffed since Wednesday, with over 200 personnel ready to respond. Additionally, more than 700 natural gas workers and contractors are on standby to support the response efforts. CenterPoint Energy is urging customers to remain weather alert and activate their emergency plans as freezing temperatures, strong winds, and potential ice accumulations are anticipated.
