What's Happening?
Beeline Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of Veon, has commenced construction of a Tier III hyperscale data centre in Almaty. The facility, known as the 'Hyper Cloud', is designed to support Kazakhstan's sovereign
cloud and AI compute ecosystem. It will offer a range of cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and Security-as-a-Service, aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises. The data centre will ensure data sovereignty by keeping all customer data within Kazakhstan. Beeline Kazakhstan CEO Evgeniy Nastradin emphasized the importance of cloud capacity for the country's digital future, noting the significant growth in Kazakhstan's IT sector. The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
