What's Happening?
A baby grey seal was rescued after being found napping on a busy highway in Long Beach Island, New Jersey. The seal, estimated to be 6 to 8 weeks old, had wandered from the ocean and was discovered by a passerby who alerted the police. Officers, along
with the Department of Public Works, safely relocated the seal away from traffic. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) was called to the scene and transported the seal to their facility in Brigantine. The seal was found to be underweight and is currently receiving care to improve its condition.
