What's Happening?
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Serbia are expanding their cooperation in food security, agriculture, and sustainable development. This development follows an official visit to Belgrade by UAE Climate Change and Environment Minister Dr. Amna Al Dahak.
During the visit, Dr. Al Dahak met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to discuss strengthening cooperation under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two nations. The discussions focused on building resilient food supply systems, expanding agricultural investments, and increasing collaboration in areas such as livestock production, water management, and climate-smart farming technologies. The UAE delegation included senior government officials and representatives from major Emirati food and agriculture companies like Silal, Elite Agro Holding, and Agthia Group. Emirati investments in Serbia now cover over 600,000 hectares of farmland, with projects led by companies such as Al Dahra and Al Rawafed. The visit also included participation in the Serbia Business Summit 2026 and the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.
