Larry Williams, the athletic director at the University of San Francisco, passed away at the age of 62 while working out at the university's War Memorial Gym. Williams had been leading the athletic department
since July 2022. Prior to his role at USF, he served as the athletic director at the University of Portland, Marquette, and Akron. Williams was a former NFL offensive lineman, having played for the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and New England Patriots. He was also a two-time All-American at Notre Dame. The university has appointed Stephanie Shrieve-Hawkins as the interim athletic director.
