Researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China, Tsinghua University, and Hefei University of Technology have developed a single-atom copper pesticide that addresses the limitations of traditional copper-based pesticides. The new Cu1/CaCO3 pesticide maximizes copper utilization while minimizing environmental impact, reducing soil copper residue by 20-fold compared to conventional pesticides. Field tests demonstrated a 77.97% disease control efficacy against rice pathogens, showcasing the material's potential to enhance crop protection and reduce environmental pollution.
