Vulcan Energy has appointed ABB as the main electrical contractor for the Lionheart Project in Germany. ABB will design, engineer, manufacture, test, and deliver electrical infrastructure systems for the lithium
extraction plant, central lithium plant, and well sites. The contract, valued at €46 million ($81.85 million), follows a memorandum of understanding from April 2024. Vulcan aims to finalize financing and additional agreements by Q4 2025, with the project expected to produce 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide monohydrate annually.
