What's Happening?
On October 17, 2025, Air France inaugurated a new lounge at Chicago O'Hare Airport, marking the first time the SkyTeam airline has established its own lounge at this location. Situated in Terminal 5, the lounge spans
470 square meters and accommodates 105 guests. It operates daily from 5 AM to 11:30 PM, with specific hours dedicated to Air France and KLM passengers. During these times, access is granted to SkyTeam business class passengers and SkyTeam Elite Plus members. Outside these hours, the lounge serves as a contract lounge, accessible to Priority Pass members. The lounge features a design that incorporates Air France's signature colors and offers a variety of food and beverage options, including a full-service bar.
Why It's Important?
The opening of the Air France lounge at Chicago O'Hare is significant as it addresses a long-standing need for quality lounge options in Terminal 5, historically considered lacking in this regard. The inclusion of the lounge in the Priority Pass network is particularly noteworthy, as it provides a much-needed upgrade for travelers using this terminal. This development is expected to enhance the overall passenger experience, offering a more comfortable and luxurious environment for travelers. The lounge's design and amenities reflect Air France's commitment to providing a high-quality service, potentially increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
What's Next?
The introduction of the Air France lounge may prompt other airlines to enhance their lounge offerings at Chicago O'Hare, potentially leading to increased competition and improved services for passengers. The lounge's success could also influence Air France's future decisions regarding lounge expansions at other airports. Additionally, the increased foot traffic from Priority Pass members may lead to further enhancements and expansions of the lounge's facilities and services.
