What's Happening?
Sanctuary Housing, one of the UK's largest social landlords, has announced a new consultancy framework set to run from 2026 to 2030. This framework is designed to support Sanctuary Housing and other public
sector bodies in accessing high-quality consultancy services. The framework will cover a wide range of services including project management, business process re-engineering, service transformation, procurement, options appraisals, and health and safety consultancy. Sanctuary Housing plans to appoint around ten suppliers to this framework, although this number may be increased at their discretion. The framework will operate under an open procedure, allowing for both direct awards and further mini competitions. This initiative is part of Sanctuary Housing's ongoing efforts to enhance building safety, decarbonization, and service transformation across its estate.
Why It's Important?
The launch of this consultancy framework is significant as it aims to streamline and enhance the quality of asset management and property development programs for Sanctuary Housing and other public sector bodies. By providing a structured approach to consultancy services, the framework is expected to improve efficiency and effectiveness in managing the housing association's extensive portfolio, which includes around 120,000 units of accommodation. This move could lead to better compliance with safety regulations and more sustainable property management practices. The framework's focus on high-quality consultancy services is likely to benefit both the housing association and its tenants by ensuring safer and more efficient housing solutions.
What's Next?
As the framework is set to commence in 2026, the next steps involve the selection and appointment of suppliers. Sanctuary Housing will evaluate tenders based on a 60 percent quality and 40 percent price criterion. The appointed suppliers will then begin collaborating with Sanctuary Housing to implement the framework's objectives. This process will likely involve detailed planning and coordination to ensure that the consultancy services meet the specific needs of the housing association and its stakeholders. The success of this framework could set a precedent for similar initiatives in the public housing sector.
