Navantia and Thales have entered into a partnership agreement to upgrade the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) fleet. This collaboration involves the installation of three Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems
on two Pattani-class offshore patrol vessels and the HTMS Chang landing platform dock. The upgrade aims to enhance real-time situational awareness by integrating IFF equipment with existing surveillance radars and combat management systems. Thales' IFF interrogators are designed to quickly identify objects and differentiate between friendly forces and potential threats, utilizing radar technology and cryptographic solutions.
