Students from Miami Dade College (MDC) have been recognized in the fifth annual NPR College Podcast Challenge, which highlights compelling student podcasts across the United States. Out of approximately 200 entries, three podcasts from MDC students received
honorable mentions. These podcasts explore a range of personal and timely themes, including the experiences of 'glass children'—siblings of children with significant medical or behavioral needs—censorship in Venezuela, and the impact of artificial intelligence on human potential. The recognition continues a trend for MDC, whose students have previously been finalists and winners in the competition. The podcasts were produced under StoryBytes, MDC's student-led podcast platform, which was launched in 2024.
