What's Happening?
NASA has awarded Advanced Space a contract for the CAPSTONE 02 mission, which will focus on lunar navigation and communications. Scheduled for 2027, the mission will use two spacecraft built by Terran Orbital to test autonomous rendezvous and proximity
operations around the Moon. The mission aims to demonstrate navigation techniques that will support future Artemis and lunar infrastructure missions. The spacecraft will utilize ground data, optical sensors, and celestial references for navigation, contributing to the development of cislunar space operations.
