What's Happening?
Bangladesh has introduced a National Action Plan (NAP) for 2026-2030 aimed at improving migration governance. This plan, approved by the Cabinet on May 21, was launched at a high-level event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates'
Welfare and Overseas Employment, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The NAP seeks to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration through enhanced institutional coordination and protection mechanisms. It also emphasizes engagement with both national and international stakeholders. The event highlighted Bangladesh's leadership in the global migration agenda and included presentations from key government officials and international partners.
