Everyone Village, a transitional shelter program in West Eugene, has announced the opening of a new 3,500-square-foot Workforce Development Center. This expansion, the first for the organization in its four and a half years of operation, aims to equip
individuals experiencing homelessness with employment skills, facilitate income generation, and foster long-term stability. The announcement was made during the inaugural Everyone Festival, a community music event held at Everyone Village. The organization, operated by Everyone Church, currently manages over 70 tiny homes and 10 respite beds, offering housing, employment, treatment, and other support services. Gabe Piechowicz, founder and executive director of Everyone Village, highlighted the success of their workforce development programs and expressed a desire for all Lane County residents to access healthy, sustainable work. The new center will build upon existing partnerships, such as with the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative for a BottleDrop alternative redemption site, which provides transitional employment as recycling specialists.
