The Korean Register (KR) has granted Approval in Principle (AIP) for the Hi-CLEARS ammonia-fueled ship safety solution, developed by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering. Announced at Gastech 2025, the system captures ammonia gas leaks, converts them into aqueous ammonia, and uses it in an SCR system, achieving 'Zero Discharge' of ammonia.
