She was preceded in death by her mother, Cleo Chavez, and other close relatives. Flores was a dedicated educator, having graduated from the University of New Mexico with a master's degree in education, and served as a teacher at La Promesa Elementary for 14 years. Known for her vibrant personality, she was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and cherished by her community.
