Juneyao Air has celebrated the first anniversary of its direct flights between Shanghai and Sydney, having transported over 100,000 passengers since the service began. The inaugural flight, HO1669, landed
at Sydney Airport on December 17, 2024, marking the airline as the ninth Chinese mainland carrier to operate at the airport. The airline currently offers four weekly direct flights, which are set to increase to daily services during the 2025 lunar new year period. Sydney Airport Chief Aviation Officer Greg Botham noted a 25% increase in Australian passengers transiting through China last year, totaling 160,000. To commemorate the milestone, Juneyao Air hosted a media and partner event at Sydney Seaplanes, featuring a scenic flight over the harbor and a celebratory breakfast.
