What's Happening?
Vedanta Aluminium, India's largest aluminium producer, has launched Restora production at its Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) plant in Korba, Chhattisgarh. This initiative is part of Vedanta's
commitment to sustainable manufacturing and its goal of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050. Restora is manufactured using renewable energy and has a verified greenhouse gas emission intensity below 4 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per tonne of aluminium, meeting global standards for low-carbon aluminium. The launch at BALCO follows the production of Restora and Restora Ultra at Vedanta's Jharsuguda plant since 2022. BALCO currently offers Restora ingots and plans to expand into more value-added products to meet industry needs.
