The Surkhandarya region in Uzbekistan has initiated the processing of gold raw materials imported from Afghanistan at Termiz Gold Production LLC, located in the Termez International Trade Center free economic zone. This development was reported by UzA,
highlighting the involvement of the Surkhandarya Regional Customs Administration, led by Izatulla Gulomov, in discussions with Afghan gold mining executives. The project aims to enhance the region's industrial potential, support the jewelry industry, and increase export volumes. The initiative, supported by the regional administration and the Customs Committee, allows for the processing of gold within the customs territory, transforming it into semi-finished jewelry products for export. Initially, 20 kilograms of gold worth $2.9 million have been allocated for processing.
