expensive globally in terms of taxes and fees per passenger, which can constitute up to two-thirds of a ticket's price. This financial burden is compounded by congested airports, inadequate infrastructure, and frequent political changes affecting airline regulations. Despite these hurdles, the region has shown resilience, with record air traffic levels and the addition of 194 new routes since October 2024.
