A recent study conducted by the Swedish used car platform Kvdbil has found that electric vehicle (EV) batteries tend to last longer than traditional gas engines. The study examined the battery health of
723 fully electric cars and 643 plug-in hybrids, revealing that approximately 80% of these vehicles retained 90% or more of their initial battery capacity after several years. The top-performing models in terms of battery longevity include the Kia EV6, Kia e-Niro, and Tesla Model Y, among others. This finding challenges a common concern among potential EV buyers regarding battery lifespan.
