What's Happening?
Axelspace Corporation, in collaboration with Meisei Electric Co., Ltd., ANA HOLDINGS INC., and JIJ Inc., has been selected for Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's (JAXA) Space Strategy Fund. The project aims to develop technology to enhance the capabilities
of next-generation Earth observation satellites. The initiative focuses on creating a satellite constellation for source-specific CO2 emission and uptake monitoring. This project will involve the development of compact spectrometers for satellites, aircraft, and ground-based observations, aiming to provide precise and actionable greenhouse gas (GHG) data. The consortium plans to launch a demonstration satellite equipped with these sensors between FY2030 and FY2032.

The project addresses the critical need for accurate and transparent GHG data, which is essential for effective climate action and policy-making.
