Charlie Chandler, a 23-year-old ice skater from Brighton, has overcome significant personal challenges to represent Great Britain in international ice skating competitions. Chandler's journey began with
a tumultuous childhood, moving in with his grandmother at 13 due to family tensions. After her passing, he faced homelessness multiple times, struggling with the instability of sofa-surfing and financial difficulties. In 2023, after a relationship breakdown, Chandler attempted to take his own life. He was then referred to the South Yorkshire youth homelessness charity Roundabout, which provided him with housing and counseling. Seeking companionship, Chandler took up ice skating, quickly developing a passion for the sport. He now trains extensively while studying at Doncaster College and has recently won gold medals in artistic performance and free skating at the Celje Ice Cup in Slovenia.
