Originally an all-boys band, it became co-ed under the direction of Ed Nelson in the early 1960s. The band, now in its 109th year, has grown in membership, skill, and showmanship, providing students with a sense of pride and enjoyment. Under the leadership of directors Joe Kulick, John Damore, and Chuck Naffier, the band has embraced core values of Service, Teamwork, Artistry, and Resilience, encapsulated in the acronym STAR. The band has participated in various competitions and performances, including trips to New York City, Ohio, and Disney World, with plans to return to New York next year.
