Surf Internet is set to expand its fiber network into northern Michigan, targeting communities around the Great Lakes region. The company plans to invest $11.4 million to connect approximately 8,965 homes
and businesses in areas such as Charlevoix, Petoskey, Boyne City, East Jordan, and Harbor Springs. This expansion is part of Surf Internet's broader strategy to enhance broadband access in underserved areas. The initiative follows a significant financial boost earlier this year, where Surf Internet secured $175 million in equity funding and a $300 million debt facility to accelerate its fiber deployment plans. Additionally, Surf Internet received a $33,600 grant from Indiana's broadband office to connect seven locations, as part of a larger $654,676 grant distribution to various providers in the state.
