Julie Stokes, a cancer survivor and founder of the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, has been awarded an MBE in the 2026 New Year Honours List for her contributions to cancer support services on the Isle
of Man. Stokes has been instrumental in mobilizing volunteers and resources to improve patient support, including the creation of a breast unit at Noble's Hospital. Her efforts have led to the establishment of a new Cancer Support and Information Centre, set to open soon. Other honorees include Laurence Skelly, awarded an OBE for his service to Manx culture, and Gerald Callister, who received a BEM for community service.
