What's Happening?
A new agricultural initiative, the Chongqing-Nepal Vegetable Training Center, has been launched in Khokana, Nepal, aimed at modernizing the country's agriculture through scientific methods and advanced technology. The foundation stone was laid by Bagmati
Province Agriculture Minister Madhusudan Paudel, alongside representatives from the Chinese Embassy and the China Foundation for Rural Development. This project is part of China's rural development initiative to promote poverty reduction and agricultural modernization in Nepal, specifically targeting the Khokana and South Lalitpur areas. The center will provide training in greenhouse farming, integrated pest management, climate-smart agriculture, and post-harvest processing, particularly benefiting women and youth. The initiative is expected to transform traditional farming into a model of commercial agriculture, with technical supervision from Chinese experts.

This project signifies a significant step in enhancing Nepal's agricultural sector, which is crucial for the country's economy and food security. By introducing modern farming techniques and technology, the initiative aims to increase productivity and sustainability in agriculture, potentially leading to increased exports and economic growth.
