The Empire State Building Observation Deck Run-Up is set to return for its 48th annual race on October 6, 2026. Presented by NYU Langone Health and powered by Merrell, the event will feature 225 runners racing up 1,576 stairs to the 86th Floor Observation Deck.
The general lottery registration for participants is open until July 20, with a drawing scheduled for July 21. Selected runners will pay a $175 participation fee. The event attracts a diverse group of participants, including media personalities, celebrities, and members of the NYPD and FDNY.
