What's Happening?
The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) has introduced the WE-Elevate program, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in the digital economy. This initiative provides a comprehensive pathway from skills development to digital adoption, market access,
and ecosystem support, ultimately leading to economic outcomes. The program is delivered through strategic partnerships with governments, the private sector, digital platforms, and entrepreneurship support organizations. It is designed to be country-owned, partnership-driven, scalable, and measurable, focusing on tangible business and economic outcomes for women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs.
Why It's Important?
The WE-Elevate program is significant as it addresses the gender gap in the digital economy by providing women entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and support to succeed. By focusing on skills development and market access, the program aims to create sustainable opportunities for women, thereby contributing to economic growth and gender equality. The initiative's partnership-driven approach ensures that it is adaptable to different national contexts, making it a scalable solution for empowering women entrepreneurs globally.
