What's Happening?
Intrepid Travel has opened a new operational hub in Santiago, Chile, marking a significant expansion in Latin America. The new Destination Management Company (DMC) will oversee operations in Chile, Argentina,
Brazil, and Uruguay, strengthening local partnerships and scaling operations in one of its fastest-growing regions. This expansion comes amid strong momentum, with South American bookings up 20% year-over-year, and aims to position Intrepid as the tour operator of choice across Latin America by 2030.
Why It's Important?
The expansion into Chile is crucial for Intrepid Travel as it seeks to capitalize on the growing demand for adventure travel in Latin America. By establishing a local presence, Intrepid can offer richer, more meaningful experiences and strengthen its market position. This move is expected to enhance tourism in the region, benefiting local economies and promoting sustainable travel practices through partnerships with NGOs. The initiative aligns with Intrepid's goals of conservation and positive social impact.
