Shortly thereafter, police in Park Ridge were alerted to a suspicious vehicle on Meacham Avenue near Edgemont Lane, where they discovered the individual who had fled, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The injured party was treated by the Des Plaines Fire Department and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet released the deceased's name or the official cause of death.
