A prospective observational study conducted at Akdeniz University between June 1 and November 1, 2023, examined the use of AI in determining the appropriateness of hysterectomy procedures. The study involved 87 patients aged 40 to 65 years, all scheduled for hysterectomy at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Researchers collected comprehensive clinical data, including patient histories and ultrasound findings, which were anonymized for privacy. The data was then analyzed using the GPT-4 Turbo large language model to assess whether the AI agreed with the clinical team's decision to perform hysterectomies or suggested alternatives. Statistical analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics, and the study was approved by the Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Clinical Research Ethics Committee.
