Stakeholders in Nigeria's medical sector are advocating for increased collaboration with expatriate healthcare professionals and Nigerian specialists in the diaspora. This initiative aims to strengthen the country's health system, reduce medical tourism,
and improve access to world-class specialist care. The call for collaboration was made during a visit by a delegation from the African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) to the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Discussions focused on partnerships in specialist healthcare delivery, research, diagnostics, training, and referral services. AMCE's Director of Business Development, Mrs. Kehinde Oyesiku, highlighted the importance of skilled personnel alongside advanced equipment in providing quality healthcare. The collaboration is expected to enhance specialist healthcare delivery, expand research opportunities, and improve patient care across the region.
