What's Happening?
Skyports Infrastructure, in collaboration with Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has reached a significant milestone in the construction of the world's first commercial vertiport, named 'DXV', located
near Dubai International Airport. The project, which is 60% complete, is on track for completion in the first quarter of 2026. The vertiport will serve as the central hub for the Dubai Vertiport Network, facilitating flights with Joby Aviation's electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Designed to handle 42,000 aircraft movements and approximately 170,000 passengers annually, the facility includes advanced features such as fast-charging infrastructure and high-standard safety equipment. The terminal, spanning four floors, aims to provide a seamless passenger experience with automated check-in and premium lounges.
