The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented eight self-service electronic gates at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, specifically for pre-check passengers. These eGates are designed to streamline the verification process by
using biometric data to match passengers' faces with their identification. TSA Federal Security Director Greg Hawko expressed optimism about the new system, noting that both the TSA team and passengers have responded positively to the change. The eGates are currently operational at Security Checkpoint 2, and the airport handles approximately 35,000 originating passengers daily.
