The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law has received a $1 million donation from GGRM Law Firm to establish a scholarship for first responders entering the legal field. This scholarship, launching in the 2026-2027 academic year,
will provide financial assistance for tuition and related expenses to eligible applicants, including current and former law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and emergency dispatchers. Leah Chan Grinvald, dean of Boyd Law, emphasized the value of first responders' real-world experience and leadership in enriching the legal community. GGRM Law Firm, known for its pro bono work, views this endowment as a way to promote non-traditional pathways into the legal profession and enhance diversity within the field.
