The European Commission has launched a comprehensive plan to address the growing threats posed by drones across the European Union. This initiative aims to bolster civilian internal security while complementing existing defense efforts. The plan focuses
on four key areas: enhancing drone detection through artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and 5G networks, increasing technological development, coordinating and reinforcing responses, and strengthening defense readiness. The initiative also seeks to foster a competitive European drone market, promoting innovation, growth, and job creation. The EU drone sector is projected to grow significantly, with a compound annual growth rate of 24.5% from 2026 to 2034, driven by investments in civil and defense applications.
