What's Happening?
Wilton Library has added a Bloomberg Terminal workstation for public use, as announced in their December 17 newsletter. This terminal is located in the library's Computer Room on the first floor and can
be reserved for one-hour sessions. Patrons interested in using the terminal can book a time slot through the library's website or by contacting the Reference Desk. The addition of this terminal is sponsored by ASML, a company known for its contributions to technology and innovation. This initiative aims to provide library patrons with access to advanced financial data and analytics tools, enhancing the library's resources for community members interested in finance and business.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of a Bloomberg Terminal at Wilton Library represents a significant enhancement of public resources, particularly for individuals interested in finance and business. Bloomberg Terminals are renowned for providing comprehensive financial data, analytics, and news, which can be invaluable for students, researchers, and professionals. By offering access to such a tool, the library is expanding its role as a community resource center, supporting education and professional development. This move also highlights the importance of public-private partnerships, as demonstrated by ASML's sponsorship, which can help libraries and other public institutions offer advanced resources without bearing the full financial burden.
