Evelyn Lou Hoffman, a long-time resident of Merriville, Indiana, passed away on December 25, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on May 29, 1940, in Clay, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Blanche Marks. Evelyn was a member of the Sulphur
Springs Baptist Church in Mexico, Kentucky. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Hoffman and three sons, David, Mark, and Matthew Hoffman, along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her son John Hoffman in 2016 and her husband Charles Hoffman in 2020. The family has chosen cremation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Vanover Funeral Home.
