What's Happening?
The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has arrested three individuals, including two teenagers, in connection with a shooting that occurred in the parking garage of Governor’s Square Mall on Saturday. Marvin Gilkes, 15, was arrested for the shooting itself.
Additionally, Ronderick Troupe, 18, and a 14-year-old minor were taken into custody on various charges including firearm, probation, and drug offenses. TPD’s investigation revealed that Gilkes allegedly fired at a vehicle containing individuals with whom he had an earlier altercation inside the mall. Another vehicle, occupied by a family not involved in the dispute, was also reportedly fired upon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either vehicle. During the investigation, officers recovered firearms, some of which were reported stolen, and drugs. The arrests were made by TPD’s Violent Crime Response Team (VCRT) at a separate Tallahassee address, where the trio was apprehended without incident.
