Lawson Banks Douglas, a prominent figure in the Augusta golf community, passed away on February 4, 2026. Born in 1949, Douglas worked alongside his parents at Augusta Municipal Golf Course and later held positions at Palmetto Dunes and Bonnie Brae Country
Club. He eventually opened Lawson's Golf Shop in Augusta. Douglas was a devoted member of the Augusta American Legion Post 205 and is survived by his daughter, siblings, and grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on February 7, with attendees encouraged to wear golfing attire.
