What's Happening?
Augusta University has expanded its mobile merchandise initiative, originally launched in August 2024, to five units across its campus. These units, operated by student interns, sell school-branded items and appear at various university and community
events. The program, a collaboration between the Roar Store and the Hull College of Business, aims to boost school spirit and provide students with hands-on business experience. The initiative has led to a 29% increase in royalties for the university, highlighting its success in engaging the student body and enhancing institutional visibility.
Why It's Important?
The mobile merchandise units at Augusta University serve as a practical learning platform for students, offering real-world experience in retail operations, marketing, and entrepreneurship. This initiative not only enhances school spirit but also prepares students for future careers by providing them with valuable skills and experience. The program's success in increasing royalties demonstrates its potential as a sustainable model for other educational institutions looking to engage students and generate revenue. By integrating academic learning with practical application, Augusta University is fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among its students.
