Halcyon, a British-based restorer, has announced a new project to refurbish classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley models with modern electric powertrains. The company plans to produce 60 unique builds, starting with a Corniche convertible, which will be showcased at the Hampton Court Palace Concours of Elegance. The restoration process involves stripping the vehicle to bare metal and restoring original parts to a pristine condition. The traditional V-8 engine is replaced with an 800-volt electric battery pack developed with Evice Technologies, offering up to 500 horsepower and a range of 250 miles. The remastered vehicles will feature modern amenities such as adaptive suspension, regenerative braking, and a bespoke audio system, while maintaining a classic aesthetic.
