The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has been awarded a $2 million grant to strengthen its artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity workforce development programs. Announced by U.S. Senator John Cornyn, the funding is part of the CyberAICorps
Scholarship for Service (SFS) Program, which aims to equip professionals with the necessary skills to protect critical infrastructure from increasing cyberattacks. This initiative is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation and is a result of legislative efforts including the Cybersecurity Enhancement Act of 2014 and the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022.
