The Mark and Becky Cornett Family of Cornett Farms in Locust Grove, Arkansas, has been honored as the 2026 Independence County Farm Family of the Year. This recognition is part of the Arkansas Farm Family of the Year Program, which has been celebrating
outstanding farm families across the state for 79 years. The program acknowledges families for their leadership, agricultural achievements, conservation efforts, and community involvement. Cornett Farms, located on Heber Springs Road, was selected to represent Independence County in the statewide competition. The family will now advance to the next phase of judging for the District Farm Family of the Year honors. If successful, they could compete for the Arkansas Farm Family of the Year and potentially represent the state at the Swisher Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia.
