What's Happening?
Triad, a B2B platform of Level Education Group, has partnered with the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Transformation Workforce Accelerator program to expand the behavioral health workforce in the U.S. This initiative aims to address the shortage
of mental health professionals, particularly in underserved areas. The program offers financial incentives and comprehensive support to clinicians pursuing careers in community-based behavioral health settings. It is funded by the Ballmer Group through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and is available in Illinois, Kansas, and Michigan.
Why It's Important?
The partnership addresses a critical shortage of mental health professionals in the U.S., where 137 million people live in areas lacking adequate mental health services. By building a pipeline of licensed clinicians, the program aims to improve access to mental health care, particularly for high-need populations. This initiative not only supports the mental health workforce but also enhances the quality of care available to underserved communities, potentially reducing the long-term societal and economic impacts of untreated mental health issues.
What's Next?
Applications for the first cohort of the Workforce Career Accelerator program close on June 30, 2026. The program will continue to provide support and resources to clinicians, helping them achieve licensure and advance in their careers. As the program progresses, it may expand to additional states, further addressing the national shortage of mental health professionals and improving access to care across the country.
