The agreement with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office includes a five-year memorandum of understanding, with a 30-day cancellation clause. The annual cost for the license plate readers is approximately $12,000, covered by the existing fiscal year budget. Data collected will be retained for up to one year unless part of an active investigation, and annual audits will ensure compliance with privacy policies. Lt.
